Award-winning actress - Author, painter and philantropist

Not only a talented actor, Jane Seymour is also engaged in the fashion world with her Signature Collection. Apart from her busy life of acting, writing, producing, and painting, she is also a dedicated activist for a number of charities.

Award-winning actress Jane Seymour has showcased her talents on the Broadway stage, in motion pictures, and on television. Blazing the trail for family-friendly programming, her role as "Dr. Michaela Quinn" on Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman made history. Recently, she co-starred in the hit comedy Wedding Crashers alongside Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn.

Jane Seymour not only has a successful professional career, she is a very involved mother of six children, and has been active in philanthropic endeavors around the world for over twenty years.

Apart from her busy life of acting, producing, and painting, she is also a dedicated activist for a number of charities, seeking to improve childrens lives around the world. She is the Honorary Chairperson for City Hearts, an organization that enriches the lives of abused children, inner-city children, and incarcerated delinquent youths, by teaching the performing arts, including painting, dancing and acting. She is the Ambassador for Childrens Issues for the film worlds charitable arm, Entertainment Industries Foundation/Permanent Charities.

Actively involved in numerous charitable causes, Jane Seymour is an International Ambassador for Childhelp USA, a national organization dedicated to the research, treatment and prevention of child abuse. The organizations "Woman of the World" Award is one of many honors she has won for her social and charitable achievements. she has also been involved with a number of other charity organizations, including UNICEF, City Hearts, and Make-A-Wish Foundation, and was recently named to the Celebrity Cabinet of the American Red Cross.

In addition, Jane Seymour is an established author, who published her first book, "Jane Seymours Guide to Romantic Living," in 1986. She also teamed with her husband to write a series of exceedingly successful childrens books entitled "This One and That One," inspired by her changed life since giving birth to twins in late 1995, and "Two at a Time: Having Twins." Most recently, her sixth book, "Remarkable Changes: Turning Lifes Challenges into Opportunities," was released in April, 2003. It is about overcoming obstacles in life, and includes a foreword by Christopher Reeve.

Her talents as a watercolor and sketch artist led to the production of a series of greeting cards sold to support her charities. One of her watercolors is featured on a special Discover Card, and funds are donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Also to aid charities, she designed and painted a special edition bottle for Korbel Champagne. Her latest entrepreneurial success has been the Jane Seymour Household Collection at Saks. This decorative line started in July of 2003 and continues to see success.

Jane Seymour is a supporter of alternative medicine, after witnessing the amazing results it had upon her ailing father in his last days. Other family members have been positively influenced by alternative remedies as well, and she has become an advocate for natural remedies, on the advisory board of The National Foundation for Alternative Medicine.
